Abstract

Looks like this project is likely defunct, since Radio now has comments and comment counts integrated into it.

I want comments in my Radio Userland weblog!

Luckily, before I even really got started, they implemented it as a feature. There are still a few tweaks that the feature could stand to have, and I might still look into some alternative comment facilities since Radio allows this feature to be configured. Quick Topic XmlRpc API anyone? Or, I might play around with comments using YACCS.

• radio_comment_count_pl.txt: Count comments for a Radio Userland post
  • Install on a webserver somewhere. You could use my installation, for now.
  • Go to your comments preferences in Radio Userland and change your comment text to:
    • <iframe scrolling="no" frameborder="0" width="100" height=25" src="http://www.decafbad.com/radio_comment_count.pl?refresh=90&u=100566&p=<%itemNum%> "><noframe>comment</noframe></iframe>
  • Be sure to replace "100566" in the above URL with your Radio Userland user number
  • You should now see comment totals.
