The web is littered with installations of software by BusyDeveloper?s and LameUsers which, while possessed of a complete set of template and skin features, are never changed from the original out-of-box look. The issue is that BusyDeveloper?s know what they're doing, but don't have time to do it and just want to get down to work. LameUsers, on the other hand, don't know what they're doing, don't have time to learn, and just want to get down to work.

I guess the moral of the story is: For goodness sake, try to ship with a decent looking out-of-box experience.
